Biography
Benedikt Perak graduated in general linguistics and Indology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb, and defended his dissertation on the doctoral study of linguistics "The concept of the lexeme fear in Croatian: syntactic-semantic analysis". Since 2005, he has been teaching at the Department of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Rijeka, first as an external associate, then as a postdoctoral fellow, and from this year also as an assistant professor. As a scientist in the field of humanities - the field of philology, he is focused on the development of digital humanities and the application of methods and tools of digital linguistics to the analysis of communication, social interaction processes and culture. He is the head of the Laboratory for the Research of Cultural Complexity at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security of the University of Rijeka.
